If you have tried to get rid of shoulder pain but continually find it keeps coming back after taking painkillers, doing physiotherapy exercises and even having cortisone injections. It might be time to try something different and get to the root cause of the problem.
You may have even developed a clicking or cracking in your shoulder, which is not normal, and you are unsure of how you can get back to exercising, making normal movements, and sleeping comfortably.
Our team at West Chiropractic helps with many different types of shoulder conditions, and the main stumbling block for most of our clients is that they have never had a proper diagnosis.
Our primary aim at the start is to understand what is happening with your shoulder and why. Then, we can build a programme to help you on your journey to recovery.
Our team can identify which of these conditions you have and make the relevant recommendations to improve your mobility and range of motion.
Chiropractors are generally not your ‘go-to’ practitioners for shoulder pain. However it can be very effective. If the shoulder joint with the shoulder blade is not in the right position then this can put a lot of pressure on the joint.
As Chiropractors, our aim is to get the joints in the best position to allow the muscles to work properly. The rotator cuff can move normally, which can also help with pain management.
Chiropractors aim to improve posture, and by doing this, they can help keep the shoulders pulled back and prevent the injury from reoccurring.
Our team at West Chiropractic is not alone. Many shoulder injuries can not be treated by JUST Chiropractic.
We work with a team of sports therapists who use:
Shockwave is a state-of-the-art treatment method that is highly recommended. We are using this machine on our clients with shoulder issues and getting very good results with pain management, improved mobility, and function so they can get back to normal life.
Although these are rare, they need to be addressed quickly if you do notice them:
If there is a grade 3 AC joint problem or grade 3 rotator cuff then these conditions often need surgery. But otherwise most shoulder conditions can be treated without surgery, as long as you act on the symptoms quickly and are diligent with the rehabilitation exercises even when the pain has gone.
This can cause long-term changes in the joint, such as Osteoarthritis. This is irreversible, but it can be managed and, if left untreated for years, requires surgery.
This can help with pain management, but it is not a long-term solution to your problem. A chiropractor can help you understand the root cause of the issue and give you a treatment plan.
